See Michael's Gallery. Michael is a 50-year old businessman and property developer, but his first love is nature and all its fauna and flora for which he has an intense appreciation.
He spent a great deal of his childhood in rural areas where he was exposed to wildlife and hunting. As a result, a passion for Africa and its game was instilled in him at an early age.
In later years, this interest led to hunting trips in search of elusive prey in places as remote as the Central African Republic, Congo, Ethiopia, Tadjikistan in Russia and many others.
Although Michael believes that hunting, if done ethically, has its place in conservation, he has swapped his gun for a camera in recent years and still wanders off to the bush regularly to stalk wild animals and birds. This kind of pursuit presents him with the satisfaction of seeing the prey walk off after he has taken his shot.
Michael’s extensive knowledge and experience of wildlife, patience learned as a hunter, and his dedication and enthusiasm enable him to take advantage of unusual photographic opportunities and he aims to bring a fresh approach to wildlife photography.
He plans to continue traveling extensively in Africa’s wilderness areas and his goal and sincere desire is to create public awareness of conservation issues through his work. African wildlife and habitat are disappearing at an alarming rate and finances generated through the sale of calendars, etcetera will be used to further conservation projects that have already been identified in various parts of Africa. It is Michael’s belief that each of us can make a difference. |
